I re-worked some of the links on the Homesteading Skills page so that some of the articles that I thought were the most important for education were easily available.

Jeremy had to be rushed to the Hospital to have stitches on a hand injury he suffered while tightening the blade on the lawnmower.hand-injury-small He had just finished sharpening it and was putting back on when the wrench slipped off sending his hand into the blade cutting the back of the hand. This cut appears small but it severed an artery and two tendons and required surgery to reattach an extenser tendon that controls the pinky finger. As a result much of Jeremy’s month off from work will be taken up in recovery.

There is some good news from our home; Jeremy has recently acquired a new Job working for the Ava School District as a Technology Assistant. It is a great opportunity to provide income for our fledgling family as well as to build our farm into the self-sustainable model that we see it could be and to provide a nurturing environment for our daughter, Abby. His first day will be on Monday the 15th as he works for the Information Technologies department supporting all the computers, printers, and surveillance equipment throughout the entire school district of Ava Missouri.

Jeremy beat out 6 other applicants from all over the USA for the position which pays better than any position he has held up to this point and includes more benefits then he has ever had, including no travel (other than to the school).

“We want to give our God” Jeremy said when asked his comments “…the God of Israel, the credit for this provision and proof He is the one who protects our family and not whatever Job we work in.”

This is a news column by my wife Brandy Myers who will continue to make Myerstown News updates more frequently.
