This Sunday morning, while Brandy was returning from Arkansas and the baby shower her side of the family put on for her, I sat out at the morning’s first peak of sunshine. Yes, sunshine! I know spring is supposed to be rainy but it could at least leave two or three days of dry time between rains.
Anyway, while sitting there I was inspired to write a poem. Yes I said a poem. I think I may have written a poem when I was in high school for a class but I have never written one just for the enjoyment of it. I took care to remain to a structure and to rhyme and it just kept flowing. I didn’t even have to work at it. There are many hidden meanings in this work so see if you can pick them out.
After writing it, I recorded it verbally. I recorded the birds and the wind and various woods sounds and then added the fiddle to the background of that to the tune Amazing Grace. I came out great!
I am posting both the written and the Audio form of it. Please if you can listen to the Audio its only about 2 minutes long and has a real relaxing feel.

God I Hold and See
The Sun’s gleam resides and warms my face,
the wind blows bringing the smell of earth to this space.
The Morning’s newness brings peace and hope to feast,
the cares of the world of my soul bother me the least.
The Rabbit’s stride awakens my apathetic senses,
the call of the chickadee comes out from among the fences.
The Creator’s day in which I set and ponder
the meaning of life in these times I wonder.
The Raven’s flight and song with purpose and intent,
the heat of the morning rays warm its back with great content.
The Human’s worry a simple leaf can compare,
the resilience of falling, flying, and re-growing in the air.
The Farmer’s life though simplistic and slow it may be,
the soothing comfort I cherish upon which God I hold and see.
