Oldtime Reading

I planned on having something interesting to post by now but I was too busy to do anything. So I thought I would just post something…anything to “Try” keep the readers (one or two) who see this coming back.

I have a collection I have begun to put together that I enjoy. The books of the “Foxfire” series (originally published in the early 70’s) have the traditions of old time history. What began as a Magazine (and still is) turned into a full series of books that combine all the articles from the previous magazines. Some may have how to build a log cabin to fiddle making to blacksmithing to smelting Iron ore and even stories of people who lived in the time when electricity was a far fetched Idea.

The following Photos are scans of the book “Foxfire 4″ in which the students of a high school teacher (student did all of the interviews in ever issue) interviewed Aunt Lola Cannon.

You can read a section of the beginning of the stories she told. Due to space requirements and lack of time to scan more I decided to just do two pages. But they are good reading. They would make a great narrative for a movie of the appellations.
