Okay, so I might ought to just save my pictures and post a lot more at one time rather than making multiple postings of few pictures (and little work completed like this post). Let me know if you think thats a better idea.
I began making a new neck block for the fiddle because the old one is now the wrong size (due to removing it to work on the fiddle in the first place) plus i wanted a bulkier block to stand up to the string pressure. After making the block with my new scroll saw (man i’m glad I got that) I glued it and the next night i began carving the slot for the neck to fit in.

I carved the slot or the saddle for the neck with a wedge shape so that when I decided to glue the neck on i could fill that wedged area with glue to increase the strength.

Previously the height of the finger board was to close to the body of the fiddle so I added a block of wood at the end of the neck where it attaches to the body in order to raise it up a little.
After that I verified that the neck was at the right angle so that it make the finger board the right hight for the bridge. The best way to tell if its at the right angle is to look down the back and if the back lines up with the inside of the “D” peg hole, the fiddle neck is at the right angle.
Again I have other items available for viewing on my website. God Bless.
